Infant and Waddler (eight weeks to 18 months):
Our infant program runs from eight weeks to 12 months. Your little one is cared for in a nurturing and cozy environment where stimuli are presented in a developmentally appropriate manner. Our trained staff uses a daily journal to open lines of communication between family and caregiver. Each child receives personal attention in a private atmosphere. From 12 months to 18 months your child enters our waddler program. This program keeps your child’s senses engaged in a culturally rich classroom environment with various play activities designed to help them safely explore the world around them. A daily report is also provided to parents.
Toddler (18 months to 3 years):
Our toddler program is designed to help the children more independently explore the world around them in a safe and supportive environment. An emphasis is placed on fine and gross motor skills which are honed through interactive play with a focus on movement and coordination. An academic focus is placed on early literacy skills and number activities.
3 year olds:
In the three-year-old program, we incorporate art, music, and play into the core disciplines of math, science, social studies and language preparing your child for preschool and beyond. Using hands-on experiences, children are given the opportunity to be both curious and creative while developing a sense of wonder that helps them question the world around them. This program is offered daily from 9 am to 11:30 am.
Pre-K:
This program introduces key skills at a developmentally appropriate level while offering opportunities for social and emotional growth within the classroom community. A multi-disciplinary approach to learning includes a combination of math, science, social studies, language, and the arts. Our classrooms provide a powerful literate environment focused on phonics, early numeracy, science and social studies concepts. Enrichment activities in computer literacy and the Spanish language also accompany this program. This program is offered daily from 9 am to 11:30 am.
Kindergarten Enrichment:
Our program complements the state kindergarten
curriculum by incorporating the standards and benchmarks used by area schools into a curriculum focused heavily on literacy and numeracy. This program was developed to give children an academic advantage in an engaging and enriching environment.
Before and After School Care:
This program was developed to offer support during the hours before and after school with a focus on accommodating our families and their busy schedules. Key components of the program include a balance of play, socialization, and academics. We offer time for homework as well as a creative outlet for your child with outdoor play, and crafts such as cooking, music, and art. Stimulating activities are provided for our school-aged children encouraging them to socialize with peers and develop friendships and respect for others and their differences.
Summer Camp:
Summertime at Little Scholars is a fun and engaging experience for our children and staff. While our theme- based activities keep the children interested in learning and exploring the world around them, we also provide activities like swimming, dance, and computers. The highlights of our program are field trips and special events that are interwoven throughout the summer. |
